Portuguese tactician Carlos Queiroz has indicated that his latest job as head coach of the Black Stars presents the biggest challenge of his career.
The veteran coach was appointed to take charge of the Black Stars last week for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
At a press conference at the Alisa Hotel on Thursday, April 23, the coach was officially unveiled by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to begin his work.
Speaking at the press conference, Carlos Queiroz acknowledged the huge weight of expectations but assured that he is ready for the challenge.
“Since I arrived, I have felt the vibration. I realised the soul of the Black Stars is huge, and as a result, the expectations of the Black Stars are huge. This is the biggest challenge of my entire careerâ¦..Because in Ghana they don’t expect anything but to win, win, and win,” the Portuguese coach said.
Carlos Queiroz added, “I can promise that I will bring my forty years of experience to help.”
Meanwhile, the new Black Stars head coach has promised Ghanaians a team that will fight and give everything on the field. He believes that Ghana has good players, but a lot of hard work is needed to enjoy success.
