Coventry City delivered a thrilling performance at Pride Park Stadium, beating Derby County 5-3 in a pulsating Championship clash.
Ghanaian winger Brandon Thomas Asante was at the heart of the action, scoring a crucial third goal in the 72nd minute to level the match at 3-3.
Coventry started strong, taking an early lead through Bobby Thomas’s close-range header in the opening minute. Derby responded quickly, with Callum Elder equalizing before Haji Wright’s penalty put Coventry back in front. The first half ended 2-2 after Carlton Morris converted a late penalty for Derby.
The second half was a showcase of relentless attacking football. Ebou Adams brought Derby back into contention, but Coventry’s firepower proved too much. Thomas-Asante’s poise in front of goal reignited Coventry’s momentum, soon followed by Ephron Mason-Clark and Victor Torp sealing the victory.
