BREVARD, N.C. Methodist women’s soccer continued its USA South schedule on Saturday afternoon, traveling west to face Brevard College. Despite a strong defensive effort from the Monarchs, the Tornados scored the lone goal of the contest in the first half to secure a 1–0 victory at Ives-Lemel Family Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams traded opportunities during the opening 20 minutes, with each side recording a shot on goal. Both attempts were turned away by the opposing goalkeeper to keep the match scoreless.
- Brevard began to apply more pressure midway through the opening half and eventually broke through in the 30th minute. Maddy Loranger found Catie Barton with a pass, and Barton finished the opportunity to give the Tornados a 1–0 advantage.
- Methodist looked to respond before halftime but was unable to find the equalizer as Brevard carried its one-goal lead into the break.
- The Tornados continued to create opportunities early in the second half, but freshman goalkeeper Kiera Ferguson kept the Monarchs within striking distance. Ferguson made three saves during the final 45 minutes, including several crucial stops that prevented Brevard from extending its lead.
- Methodist continued to search for an equalizer but struggled to generate offensive opportunities against the Tornados’ defensive unit. The Monarchs managed just one additional shot in the second half as Brevard held on for the 1–0 victory.

- Sophomore Ally Quiroz led the Methodist offense with two shots, including one on target.
- Ferguson recorded a game-high five saves for the Monarchs.
