When I say that we are not convinced by any other candidate, I think I can safely say that we all would be convinced by Xabi Alonso. But forgive me for not even entertaining that right now because I still think it has a VERY slim chance of even being more than just Chelsea talking about approaching him. If it does advance, then I’ll re-do these polls.
Also, remember there could be names we don’t know about yet.
But for now, these are the most serious and realistic targets that we have been linked with by top sources and outlets.
Cesc Fabregas is YOUR man… As you can see, I also agree…
Then I asked, how happy would you be if it turned out being Andoni Iraola as our new head coach:
- 45% said middle ground
- 31% said quite happy
- 15% said not too happy (this was my vote)
- 7% said very happy
- 2% said not happy at all
As for Fabregas:
- 57% said very happy
- 34% said quite happy (this was my vote)
- 9% said middle ground
- Nobody voted not too happy or not happy at all
You can check the rest of the results here for names like Marco Silva and Filipe Luis, but it was Iraola and Fabregas who are the two most popular names in this community, with the latter being the clear favourite.
Jose Mourinho split some views though!
- 27% took the middle ground
- 25% would be quite happy if it was him
- 24% would be very happy
- 14% would not be too happy
- 10% would not be happy at all
Ah, nostalgia bites me hard, I must admit!
Antonio Conte had similar split results, whilst Frank Lampard edged a more positive response:
- 30% took the middle ground of Lampard
- 26% would be quite happy
- 22% would be very happy
- 11% would be not too happy/not happy at all
Let’s hope I can add Alonso to these soon, but I’m absolutely not getting my hopes up.
So, it’s all out for Cesc then, if Alonso is not possible? The community has spoken!
I think Cesc ticks most of the boxes, but I still doubt his overall managerial experience so far. He’s the best of the most linked so far though, for me.
