Djed Spence may be stuck at Tottenham Hotspur despite recent exit links.
The Englishman has featured in two of Igor Tudor’s four matches in charge, but has hardly covered himself in glory. Things have taken a sharp downward turn for the full-back who had become a regular in the England squad earlier this campaign.
He has now been linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, all while relegation is staring the Lilywhites in the face.
Spence may have his eye on a Spurs exit, but that could be put on hold based on the terrible situation the North London club finds itself in. The Lilywhites are in dire straits right now and will be keen to turn things around as soon as possible. That is not being helped by various stars looking to force exits ahead of the summer transfer window, with Spence being the latest.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier this week that Juventus want to sign the Englishman due to his versatility and European experience. That has not gone down well with former scout Bryan King, who believes any player sales must be put on hold until some stability is sorted in North London.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “I’d be very reluctant to sell anybody until I know who the manager will be next season and what league they’ll be in. It looks like going down could mean a restructure for the whole club, both player-wise and manager-wise. If the worst scenario does happen, there will be changes from top to bottom.”
“Talking about Spence or anybody else leaving is a load of rubbish because there’s nothing secure right now. Who’s even going to be running Spurs next season?”
Juventus may want to sign Spence, but their chances may be put on ice for now. King’s comments highlight the uncertainty surrounding Tottenham’s immediate future.
The report from Italy suggests that the Old Lady are interested in signing the 25-year-old and believes he would represent a quality addition. Relations between Juventus and Spurs are said to be very solid, although negotiations are yet to kick off about the Englishman.

A value in the region of £25 million has been set for the full-back, a fee which has been inflated due to his recently extended contract, which lasts until 2029.
That puts the Lilywhites in the driving seat over a potential summer switch, although they should delay that until they are secure in their position. Something that cannot be said of Tudor’s side right now.
Tottenham face the very real prospect of relegation. Making transfer decisions while in this precarious position would be premature. The club needs to secure their Premier League status before entertaining offers for players like Spence.
Whether they remain in the top flight will determine their entire transfer strategy and restructuring plans for next season.
