Emily Fox inks extension with Arsenal

Emily Fox is staying in London.

The U.S. women’s national team defender has signed a three-year contract extension with Arsenal. The length of the deal was confirmed by Yahoo! Sports. Fox joined Arsenal in 2024 and has since made 93 appearances with the club, across all competitions, scoring three goals. In WSL competition, she has started 51 of her 54 appearances.

“I’m so happy to be extending my stay here,” Fox said, via a press release. “This has felt like home since the moment I joined, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to continue to represent this club and compete for titles. To be a part of Arsenal is to be a part of something bigger, and I feel like I’m in the best place to keep pushing for more.”

With Arsenal, Fox won the 2023-24 FA Women’s League Cup, the 2024-25 UEFA Women’s Champions League and the 2026 FIFA Women’s Champions Cup. Fox was recognized on the WSL Team of the Year the last two seasons, along with the Champions League Team of the Season.

Fox began her professional career — after a collegiate career at the University of North Carolina — with Racing Louisville of the National Women’s Soccer League. She was drafted No. 1 overall in the 2021 NWSL College Draft and made 39 starts in 40 appearances.

In 2023, she joined the North Carolina Courage, where she started all 18 of her appearances. Fox was part of the Courage’s 2023 NWSL Challenge Cup winning team.

A member of the 2024 Summer Olympic team that won the gold medal, Fox has made 78 appearances, scoring one goal, for the U.S. women’s national team. She also won with the U.S. in the 2022 Concacaf W Championship and the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup. She was on four SheBelieves Cup winning sides in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2026.
