AZ Alkmaar forward Ibrahim Sadiq and Tottenham Hotspur playerMatt Wells, the coach of Colorado Rapids, believes Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Sadiq will improve his team following his move to the MLS.The 26-year-old Ghanaian signed a deal to join Rapids from Dutch giants AZ Alkmaar in the summer transfer window. Sadiq joins the MLS side on a deal through to the 2027/28 season, with the option of a further year.His new coach first faced him during Spurs’ Europa League winning campaign in the 2024/25 season, where Wells worked as assistant to Ange Postecoglu. Sadiq caught the attention of the English manager with his explosive display.Ibrahim gives us a different dimension in the attacking areas of the pitch, said the coach. He is explosive, aggressive in one-v-one situations and constantly looks to threaten the space behind the opposition.”The fans that watch us week in week out will know how important our pressing is and Ibrahim has the intensity and willingness to defend in that way. He is a player I faced in the Europa League knockout stages when I was at Tottenham and I was a huge admirer of him then after analyzing the problems he was causing teams in the build-up to the game.”To now be able to sign him and become his Head Coach makes me absolutely delighted.
