The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has released the timetable for the club licensing process ahead of the 2026/27 football season, outlining key dates and compliance requirements for clubs seeking participation in domestic competitions.
According to the Club Licensing Department, the application process will officially open on Monday, June 29, 2026, marking the start of preparations for clubs competing in the Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League and Women’s Premier League.
As part of the process, the GFA will organise a Club Licensing Workshop for clubs from the three competitions on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The workshop is expected to guide clubs through the licensing requirements and application procedures.
The inspection phase will begin on Friday, July 10, 2026, with GFA officials scheduled to assess match venues and training facilities used by Premier League clubs. The inspections are intended to ensure clubs meet the infrastructure, administrative and operational standards required to participate in the new season.
The GFA has also reminded Premier League and Division One League clubs that all applications must be submitted through the online club licensing platform by Monday, August 24, 2026.
Clubs have been urged to complete the process and submit all necessary documentation before the deadline to avoid delays in the review process.
The club licensing system is designed to improve professional standards across Ghana football by ensuring clubs satisfy the minimum requirements in sporting, infrastructure, legal, personnel, administrative and financial criteria before the start of each season.
