The GFA Elite Academy teams from Bolgatanga and Kumasi will join 10 regional sides for the sixth KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U-17 Colts Championship, which will take place from October 310, 2026.
The seven-day tournament will be staged at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram and will bring together 12 teams for a national talent-identification competition.
The Northern and Middle Belt Elite Academy teams will be represented by Bolgatanga Senior High School (BIG BOSS) and Prempeh College in Kumasi. They will compete alongside teams selected by the Regional Football Associations.
The regional representatives are from the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Upper East, Eastern, Central, Volta, Upper West, Northern and Western Regions.
The 12 teams will be drawn into groups before beginning their campaign in what is expected to be a highly competitive championship. The competition will give some of Ghanas most promising young footballers an opportunity to perform on a national platform.
Sponsored by the KGL Foundation, the tournament is centred on identifying and developing players at under-17 level. It is intended to provide emerging footballers with valuable competitive experience while creating opportunities for scouts and development coaches to assess their progress.
The championship is part of Ghanas wider player-development pathway. Its sixth edition is expected to contribute to the identification and nurturing of the next generation of Ghanaian football talent.
