Ghanaian defender Yeboah Amankwah completes move to Finish side Inter Turku
England-born Ghanaian defender Yeboah Amankwah has sealed a move to Finish topflight side Inter Turku. The 25-year-old signed a deal to join Inter Turku for the rest of the 2026 campaign. The club has the option of extending the deal for a further two years.Amankwah arrives after a spell with IFK Mariehamn at the start of the year, where he made 12 appearances in the Veikkausliiga.” Yeboah is an exceptional player for the Veikkausliiga. He is a big, but extremely fast and very aggressive defender, who is also born with various ball skills. He has not yet been able to play to his full potential in Finland, but we believe he will suit our style of play brilliantly. In addition to playing as a central defender, he can also play as a winger, so he will bring us much-needed width in the middle of a busy match,’ said Viki Savonen, the head of player scouting at Inter Turku.Amankwah, who was born in London to Ghanaian parents, started his career at Manchester City’s academy, playing through the ranks before moving to Belgium in 2025 to sign for Lommel SK.He joins compatriots Prosper Ahiabu and Bismark Ampofo.FC Inter Turku are currently playing in the qualifiers of the Europa Conference League as they eye a place in the league phase of the competition.
