Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Sadiq is closing in on a move to Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar.The two clubs are in advanced negotiations and have reached a broad agreement on a transfer fee of around 1 million euros for the 26-year-old.Sadiq is currently in the United States to undergo his medical examination before the transfer can be completed.The Ghanaian joined AZ from Norwegian side BK Hacken on September 1, 2023, and still had two years remaining on his contract. However, AZ are prepared to sanction his departure due to his limited prospects of securing regular playing time at the club.Sadiq made 86 appearances for AZ, scoring 18 goals during his time with the Dutch side.He is yet to make his senior debut for the Ghana national team, despite being eligible for the Black Stars.According to Transfermarkt, Sadiq’s current market value stands at 2 million euros, meaning AZ could receive about half of his current valuation if the proposed 1 million euros transfer fee is finalised.The move to Colorado would give Sadiq an opportunity to revive his career with regular first-team football in the United States.
