Ghanaian forward Daniel Adu-Adjei delivered a standout performance for HNK Rijeka on Saturday evening, scoring twice and providing an assist in their emphatic 4-1 victory over Osijek in the Croatian Premier League.The former Bournemouth youth player was instrumental in Rijekas comeback victory at the Rujevica Stadium, helping the hosts overturn an early deficit to secure all three points in the sixth round of the league campaign.Osijek took the lead in the 15th minute through Armando Leon, who headed home a well-delivered cross.Rijeka responded strongly, with Adu-Adjei playing a key role in their attacking moves.The Ghanaian combined with Antonio Vignato in the 21st minute as Vignato restored parity for Rijeka. Twelve minutes later, Adu-Adjei put the hosts ahead after receiving a pass from Toni Fruk before calmly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.He struck again before the interval, capitalising on another defensive error after Fruk won possession inside the Osijek penalty area and teed him up to make it 3-1.Adu-Adjei continued to pose a threat after the break, creating opportunities and linking effectively with his teammates before Fruk completed the scoring in the 62nd minute.The 21-year-old’s impressive display takes his league tally to three goals and one assist in five appearances this season.Across all competitions, he has now registered five goals, underlining his growing influence since joining Rijeka.His latest performance will further enhance his reputation as one of Ghana’s emerging attacking talents in European football.
