Ghana’s Ambassador to Senegal, H.E. Dr Felix Kumah Godwin Anebo, has paid a morale-boosting visit to the Black Maidens ahead of Friday’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Senegal.The Ambassador visited the team’s camp in Diamniadio on Thursday, accompanied by officials from the Ghana Embassy in Senegal, where he was warmly received by the players and technical staff.Addressing the squad, Dr Anebo praised the players for their commitment to representing Ghana on the international stage and urged them to approach the match with confidence, discipline and determination.”It is always a privilege to see young Ghanaian athletes representing our nation beyond our borders. You carry the hopes of millions of Ghanaians every time you step onto the pitch,” he told the team.”Believe in your abilities, trust your coaches and play for one another.”The Ambassador also assured the Black Maidens of the Embassy’s full support throughout their stay in Senegal.”The Embassy is proud of you, and we will continue to support you in every way we can. We wish you the very best against Senegal and hope you make the nation proud,” he added.Leader of delegation Dr Evelyn Nsiah Asare Owusu thanked the Ambassador and his team for the visit, describing it as a timely source of encouragement ahead of the important qualifier.The Black Maidens will face hosts Senegal at the Stade Leopold Sedar Senghor in Dakar on Friday, with a place at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup at stake.
