GoldStars CEO Kwasi Adu charged by GFA over post-match comments




Bibiani Gold Stars FC Chief Executive Officer Kwasi Adu has been charged by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following the clubs Ghana Premier League clash with Accra Hearts of Oak.According to an update on the GFAs regulatory actions for the 2026/27 season, Adu has been charged with a breach of Article 34(6)(d) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations, 2025.The charge relates to comments he allegedly made during his post-match commentary concerning the match officials.The GFA says the comments constitute improper conduct that brings the Ghana Premier League into disrepute.Adu has been given until Wednesday, September 16, 2026, to respond to the charge.The case follows Gold Stars meeting with Hearts of Oak in the second matchday of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.Gold Stars suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Hearts, despite taking the lead through Kwame Opoku.Hearts recovered through Yaw Baafi and Kwaku Boateng Henry before goalkeeper Benjamin Asare saved a late penalty to secure all three points for the visitors.The GFAs regulatory action means Adu must now formally respond to the allegations before the matter proceeds further.
