Harry Maguire has signed a new contract with Manchester United.
The England international, whose current deal was due to expire at the end of the season, has agreed new terms that keep him at Old Trafford until 2027 with the option of a further year.
Maguire joined United from Leicester in 2019 and has gone on to make 266 appearances for the club, helping them to win the EFL Cup and FA Cup.
He told the club’s official website: “Representing Manchester United is the ultimate honour. It is a responsibility that makes myself and my family proud every single day.
“I am delighted to extend my journey at this incredible club to at least eight seasons and continue to play in front of our special supporters to create more amazing moments together.
“You can feel the ambition and potential of this exciting squad. The determination throughout the whole club to fight for major trophies is clear for everyone to see and I am confident that our best moments together remain ahead of us.”

Maguire a key part of Manchester United resurgence
Maguire struggled for game time under previous boss Ruben Amorim but has been a pivotal figure in the club’s resurgence under interim head coach Michael Carrick.
“Harry represents the mentality and resilience required to perform for Manchester United,” said Jason Wilcox, the club’s director of football. “He is the ultimate professional who brings invaluable experience and leadership to our young, ambitious squad.
“Harry, like everyone at the club, is completely determined to help Manchester United to achieve regular and sustained success.”
Maguire form has thrust him back into England contention
The 33-year-old’s recent form has also caught the attention of England boss Thomas Tuchel and Maguire made his first appearance for the Three Lions since September 2024 in the recent 1-1 draw with Uruguay at Wembley.
Despite that, he will likely need a strong end to the season to make the final squad for this summer’s World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
United have lost just once under Carrick, a run that has seen them surge up the Premier League table, and they went into the international break in third position.
They resume their campaign with a home game against struggling Leeds on Monday night.
