Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani has admitted his side’s failure to convert chances remains a concern after the Phobians managed to score in only two of their opening five Ghana Premier League matches this season.
The former Black Queens coach, however, believes the team is making steady progress in its tactical identity despite the lack of goals.
Hearts have found the net only against Dreams FC and Eleven Wonders, both of whom currently sit in the relegation zone. They have failed to score in their three other league fixtures, raising concerns among supporters about the team’s attacking efficiency.
Speaking after their latest goalless outing against Heart of Lions, Dramani acknowledged the need for improvement in front of goal but insisted the team’s overall structure and discipline are beginning to show.
“We always try as much as possible to control our opponent and the game, especially when we’re without the ball,” he said.
“It’s definitely a problem not getting the goals, but it’s good that we have our identity now and we’re still working towards that. We don’t care whether we’re playing at home or away.”
Hearts of Oak, who currently sit mid-table, will look to rediscover their scoring form when they return to league action this weekend.
