English-born Ghanaian winger Charles Sagoe Jr has vowed to thrill supporters after completing a season-long loan move to Kalmar FF from Arsenal.
The 21-year-old attacker, who joins the Swedish side as they prepare for life back in the Allsvenskan, is relishing the new challenge and cannot wait to make his mark.
“It has been a smooth transition from Arsenal to Kalmar. I am very grateful that the players and leaders at the club have welcomed me as one of their own. Now I can hardly wait for the season to get started,” Sagoe Jr told FotbollDirekt.
Having arrived from mid-season action in England into a team currently in pre-season, the winger admits the adjustment will require focus and adaptability.
“It is of course very different, it is a new environment that I have to get used to quite quickly. I feel ready physically but also mentally. It will be a challenge, but I am excited about that journey and I am looking forward to the first games of the season.”
Sagoe Jr is especially eager to experience the famed Swedish matchday atmosphere.
“I want to embrace the Swedish atmosphere when I play in front of a big crowd. That’s something I’m excited about.”
Describing his style of play, he added confidently: “I am a player with a lot of flair. I like to have the ball and express myself through dribbling.
“I am very direct and very fast. I want to entertain people when they come and watch us. I am an entertaining player who wants to get the fans out of their seats.”
