The head coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Tanko, was full of praise for his players on Sunday after their dominant performance in the 4-0 thumping of Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.
The Yellow and Mauves hosted the Porcupine Warriors at the TnA Stadium in their Week 29 fixture of the league campaign and secured an important result that has propelled the side to the summit of the league table.
In the one-sided affair, Medeama SC scored three times in the first half, denying Asante Kotoko any chance of a comeback in the second half.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Ibrahim Tanko credited his players for the victory, describing their performance as fantastic.
“We were determined to keep the three points here. Looking at how we trained, the players did very well. I congratulate them, this is a very fantastic performance, especially in the first half,” Tanko said.
With the win against Kotoko, Medeama SC tops the Ghana Premier League standings with 53 points, two more than Gold Stars in second place.
The team will take on Berekum Chelsea in the next matchday for a chance to stretch the lead at the top.
