Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko says his side has finally rediscovered their psychological edge following a vital 2-0 victory over Eleven Wonders on Friday.
The win at the TnA Stadium ended a frustrating seven-game winless streak in the Ghana Premier League that had seen the club’s title charge stall over the past month.
Speaking after the match, a relieved Tanko emphasized that the three points were as much about mental recovery as they were about the league standings.
He noted that the recent drought had weighed heavily on the squad, making the Friday night triumph a critical turning point for their campaign.
“I think it’s very important after seven games without a win to have three points at home,” Tanko stated. “It’s a very good feeling. I said before the game that we only need one win to get our confidence back, and we have it today.”
The victory propelled the “Mauve and Yellows” back to the top of the Ghana Premier League table, moving them to 49 points. Despite a congested race at the summit, Tanko remains adamant that his team is the favorite to secure the trophy.
“The players saw that the last seven games will not be easy,” he acknowledged. “We have to take it game by game, but I’m sure that at the end of the league, we will be the champions.”
