Manchester City cruised to a 3-0 victory over Brentford at the Etihad Stadium, with Jeremy Doku getting on the scoresheet as Pep Guardiola’s side continued to pile pressure on league leaders Arsenal.
After a frustrating first half in which the visitors defended deep and refused to budge, City’s wide men took control after the break.
Doku finally broke Brentford’s resistance on 60 minutes, drifting in from the left before finishing confidently to ignite the home crowd and settle City’s nerves. With the game opening up, Erling Haaland doubled the lead on 75 minutes, but it was Marmoush who added the final flourish.
The Egyptian forward, on as an impact substitute, raced clear in stoppage time and coolly slotted home City’s third in the 90+2 minute, capping a vibrant cameo on a statement night for his Premier League credentials.
The win lifts Manchester City to 74 points, just two behind Arsenal with two games to go, while Brentford remains eighth on 51 points.
