Ghanaian forward Joel Fameyeh stepped off the bench to score a late winner as Puskas FC Academy snatched a 1â0 victory away to Ujpest in NB I.
In a tight contest at the Szusza Ferenc Stadion, Ujpest dominated possession and racked up more shots and corners but lacked cutting edge in the final third. Puskas were content to sit deep and counter, and the decisive moment arrived on 81 minutes when substitute Mikael Soisalo broke down the right and whipped in a low cross that Fameyeh coolly tucked past Dávid Banai.
The goal capped a clever tactical tweak from coach Zsolt Hornyák, who had introduced extra attacking legs in search of a late breakthrough. Ujpest threw men forward in the closing stages but could not find a way past a disciplined Puskas back three.
Fameyeh’s strike takes his 2025/26 NB I tally to 11 appearances, 2 goals, and 0 assists, underlining his growing importance to Puskas.
Puskas now prepare to face Zalaegerszeg away on Sunday, February 8, as they look to build on this hard-fought win.
