Kojo Peprah Oppong’s time in Sweden appears to be drawing to a close as a move to France edges closer.
The Ghanaian defender, who has grown into a reliable figure for IFK Norrkoping this Allsvenskan season, confirmed after the match against IFK Värnamo that he may have played his final game for the club.
“I think it might have been my last match,” he told NT.
Oppong’s rise came after two loan spells at Gif Sundsvall, returning to Norrkoping to cement a place in the starting eleven. Now, Ligue 1 side OGC Nice is reported to be closing in on his signature, with the player acknowledging direct interest from the French club.
“I think it might have been (the last match). We’ll see, but I hope Norrkoping fans understand. It’s very close.
“I hope for the best and feel that it would be a good step in that case.”
Oppong has featured in 23 games for Norrköping. His contract runs until the end of 2026.
