Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston has expressed his readiness to return to coach Ghana’s national teams in the future, stating his decision would hinge on the presence of a professional and supportive working environment.

Speaking in a recent interview, the ex-Hearts of Oak winger affirmed his unwavering commitment to his country.

“I’m a Ghanaian, and anytime the opportunity comes to coach any national team, I will,” Kingston stated. “If the environment is conducive for me, I’ll take the offer.”

Kingston’s comments follow a period of rebuilding his coaching career abroad after a brief and turbulent stint with the Ghana U-17 team, the Black Starlets. Appointed in April 2024, he led the team to the semifinals of the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship but resigned immediately after a 2-1 loss to Burkina Faso, citing undisclosed concerns about the team’s setup.

Since then, he has worked in the United States and is currently overseeing all of Uganda’s junior national teams, a role that has expanded his experience in youth development.

His growing profile and these new comments indicate a potential openness to a future role with the Black Stars, contingent on what he describes as the right structural support and working conditions for success.
