Leipzig open to Simons sale amid Premier League interest

According to Sky Germany, RB Leipzig would be open to selling Xavi Simons this summer, but only if an offer meets their valuation of €80million for his services.

At this point, it seems the Premier League would be the likeliest destination for the Dutch attacking midfielder if he does leave the Bundesliga side, with Liverpool and Manchester United both credited with interest. Manchester City also entering the race at some stage would hardly come as a surprise, given their need to revamp the squad ahead of 2025/26.

Simons, who has just turned 22, has been on relatively good form this season, scoring 10 goals and producing six assists across 29 matches in all competitions for Leipzig. His contract at the Red Bull Arena runs until the summer of 2027, so it would make sense for Leipzig to sell now if they wish to avoid risking a forced cut-price sale later on – unless, of course, they manage to tie him down to a new deal.

Both Liverpool and United have Dutch players in their ranks, who would surely be willing to speak to their international teammate about moving to their respective clubs. But unless United win the Europa League this term, Liverpool being able to offer Champions League football next season would obviously be an advantage for the Merseysiders.
