After signing on with The Reds, McDonald said “It’s a very proud moment for me and my family. I’m really grateful to be in this position and I can’t wait to get going and get started.

“My family have obviously done a lot for me over the years, and I wouldn’t be in this position without that. It’s a big thank you to them and my brother, because if it wasn’t for him I probably wouldn’t be playing.

“It means everything to pull on the Liverpool shirt every day. Growing up, everyone wants to play football professionally and live out their dream. Now I am so it’s a really happy moment for me.”

McDonald will now continue her development with Liverpool with a view to obtaining further first team minutes.
