Liverpool are setting their sights on one of the Premier League’s most electrifying talents – Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze – as they look to bolster their attack ahead of Arne Slot’s second season in charge.
According to CaughtOffside, the Reds are seriously weighing up a move for the 26-year-old playmaker, who’s also high on Tottenham Hotspur’s wishlist. In fact, Spurs are reportedly further along in the race, with talks already underway as they eye him to complement or even compete with James Maddison.
Eze, who joined Palace from QPR in 2020, has gone from strength to strength. He lit up Selhurst Park this past season with 13 goals and 11 assists in 41 appearances, and played a decisive role in the club’s stunning FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City, scoring the match-winner.
While he still has two years left on his contract, Palace may be resigned to losing him this summer – but only if his £70 million release clause is met in full.
Slot, fresh off delivering Liverpool their first Premier League title since 2020, is keen to inject fresh creativity into the squad. Eze’s versatility – capable of playing as a No.10 or drifting wide – would offer valuable tactical options.
