Manchester United are exploring an unusual swap arrangement involving Altay Bayindir and Wilfred Ndidi.
Turkish outlet Sporx reports both clubs have discussed the possibility of the swap ahead of the summer transfer window with Beşiktaş looking to strengthen their goalkeeping department while Man United seeking reinforcements in the middle of the park and this swap deal can satisfy both parties if negotiations progress beyond what are now only preliminary discussions.
Bayindir has struggled for playing time since joining Manchester United from Fenerbahçe. The Turkish international remains firmly behind Lemanns in the pecking order at Old Trafford and his lack of opportunities has prompted United to consider his departure.
Meanwhile, Beşiktaş manager Sergen Yalçın has identified Bayindir as his primary goalkeeping target for next season.
Beşiktaş push Manchester United for Altay Bayindir return
Yalçın has reportedly informed club officials that the Manchester United goalkeeper represents his ideal solution and Beşiktaş are now monitoring the situation closely and stand ready to act if United signal willingness to negotiate.
A return to Turkish football would provide Bayindir with regular first-team football he cannot secure in England.
Sporx reports that internal discussions at United have explored whether including Bayindir could reduce the cash outlay for Ndidi. The midfielder joined Beşiktaş last summer for €8 million and remains under contract until 2028 with an option for an additional year. That strong contractual position gives the Turkish club a bit of a standing point for entering negotiations.
Manchester United maintain long-standing Wilfred Ndidi interest
United have tracked Ndidi for several seasons, according to previous reports.
His ball-winning ability, physical presence and Premier League experience appeal to United’s recruitment team. The midfielder could provide a cost-effective alternative to Casemiro, whose future at Old Trafford remains uncertain.
There were reports last season linking Man United with a potential move before he completed his Beşiktaş switch.
United are expected to overhaul multiple positions when the summer window comes around and structuring deals creatively could preserve funds for other priority signings.
