Manchester United are reportedly setting their sights on Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume — and honestly, this one makes a lot of sense.
The 24-year-old Frenchman has quietly become one of European football’s more intriguing midfield prospects. After joining Sevilla permanently from Inter Milan last summer, Agoume has nailed down a starting spot, racking up four goal contributions in 24 appearances this season. Not bad for a player who could be available on the cheap.

Why United Need This Deal
With Casemiro heading for the exit door this summer and Manuel Ugarte failing to convince since his PSG switch, Ruben Amorim desperately needs midfield reinforcements. United have identified bigger names — Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton — but those options don’t come cheap.
That’s where Agoume fits perfectly. Head of recruitment Christopher Vivell is reportedly pushing hard for the move, and given Sevilla’s well-documented financial struggles, United could land him for a bargain.
What Agoume Brings to Old Trafford
Standing at 6ft 2in, Agoume is a defensively-minded midfielder who can also operate box-to-box. He’s dynamic, technically assured, strong in the air, and composed on the ball — exactly the profile United need in the engine room.
Sevilla wanted £20m last summer. They’ll likely demand more now, but financial pressures may force their hand.
For a United side desperately rebuilding under Amorim, securing Agoume could prove to be one of the shrewder pieces of business this summer window.
