Manchester United are ‘best placed’ to sign Rafael Leao from AC Milan with the Italian side open to his sale this summer.
Milan are understood to be ready to consider proposals of around €50m (£43m) for Leao as the Serie A side look to raise funds for a rebuild.
The Portugal international has struggled with fitness issues this season, while a roadblock on negotiations over a new deal have prompted Milan to weigh up his future.
According to Gazetta Dello Sport, Manchester United are best placed to sign the 26-year-old.
Though the club’s primary focus is on central midfield, a left-sided forward is also on the Red Devils’ radar if finances allow. Leao’s availability for a reasonable fee, and potential to elevate the club’s frontline, make him an appealing option.
Across seven Serie A seasons at the San Siro, Leao has scored 64 goals and assisted 43 more.
He has consistently ranked among the division’s best ball-carriers and was named as Serie A’s Footballer of the Year during Milan’s 2021/22 title-winning campaign.
