Manchester United team news: Fernandes starts at Brighton

Bruno Fernandes has been named in the Manchester United team to face Brighton in the Premier League this afternoon.

Michael Carrick’s side take on Brighton at the Amex Stadium in their final fixture of the 2025-26 season. For Fernandes, it represents a chance to break the single-season assist record, having equalled the 20-assist mark of Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne last weekend.

The 31-year-old was this week named Premier League Player of the Season, adding to his FWA Footballer of the Year accolade.

Fernandes captains a Manchester United side that has three changes from last week’s win over Nottingham Forest.

Noussair Mazraoui, Mason Mount and Patrick Dorgu all come into the side, with Matheus Cunha dropping to the bench. Casemiro is not in the squad, curtailing his career at Old Trafford last week. The veteran will depart when his contract expires in the summer.
