Medeama’s struggles continued in the Ghana Premier League as the Mauve and Yellow were beaten 2-1 by league newcomers Hohoe United at the TNA Stadium.
The result marked the fifth consecutive game without a win for the leaders, who had the numerical advantage for much of the match but could not turn it into a positive outcome.
The match unfolded in frustrating fashion for Medeama. Goalkeeper Felix Kyei’s penalty attempt struck the post, and an own goal compounded the team’s misfortune.
Despite the setback, Medeama maintained a one-point cushion atop the standings, as second-placed Bibiani Gold Stars fell to Young Apostles in the same round.
Speaking after the loss, head coach Ibrahim Tanko acknowledged the challenges and emphasized the need for direct engagement with his squad.
“I have been in this game for a long time and this kind of day happens sometimes because it’s not normal that you miss a penalty, you give away a goal and another own goal. Definitely it’s difficult for you to win,” Tanko told the club’s media team.
He further outlined his next steps, underlining the importance of regrouping and strategy.
“We still have nine games to play, I think I have to meet with the players and then see the way forward,” he added
