Medeama SC have once again proved that their influence extends beyond the football pitch to the very roots of national leadership and development. With a dramatic turn of events, two senior staff members of the club have ascended to the highly respected office of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), under different political banners – highlighting the club’s bipartisan service to Ghana’s socio-political terrain.Engineer Ebenezer Aidoo, previous Brands and Marketing Manager of Medeama, has been nominated as the MCE for the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly.Aidoo’s nomination is a testament to his strong leadership skills, strategic communication skills, and grass-roots engagement skills honed while serving the club. His appointment is a moment of pride not only for Ahanta West but also for the entire Medeama SC family. On the other hand, Benjamin Kessie, the former administrative manager of the club, also discharged his duties with devotion as MCE for Tarkwa-Nsuaem under the New Patriotic Party (NPP).His tenure of office in Tarkwa-Nsuaem set new standards in governance and local development, and he became the pride of many. That Medeama has given rise to two MCEs – one NPP-leaning and the other NDC-leaning – attests to the club’s long-standing culture of professionalism, camaraderie, and excellence.Football clubs have a tendency to create characters and instill discipline; in this case, Medeama has given birth to leaders who are set to lead change beyond sports.
