The Portland Thorns announced Thursday that forward Morgan Weaver has been removed from the season-ending injury list and will be available for selection on Friday, July 24, when the Thorns host Gotham FC. Weaver was placed on the SEI list during the 2025 preseason, her last appearance coming in November 2024.

The Thorns’ attacker has missed significant time since 2024 due to a right knee injury. Weaver had arthroscopic surgery on the knee in May 2024, but successfully returned to the field that September. Ahead of the 2025 season, she reinjured the same knee. After the reinjury, Weaver posted, saying her knee never fully healed from that previous injury and she would be “restarting the process of rehabbing my meniscus.”

The 28-year-old has been a key attacking figure over the course of her career in Portland. Weaver has scored 25 goals and assisted 11 in her 105 appearances across all NWSL competitions, helping the Thorns lift the 2022 NWSL Championship and 2021 NWSL Shield, among others.
