Here’s a look at some stats and minutiae following Week 13 of the 2026 National Women’s Soccer League season. We’ll keep evolving this space every week to try and keep you informed. Have an idea or an addition? Hit me @thedanlauletta on Bsky or X.
All statistics reference regular season games only except where noted.
PLAYER STATS
-Kaleigh Kurtz has now played 128 consecutive regular season matches and 11,592 consecutive minutes. Both are league records. The streaks began June 26, 2021, while playing for the Courage. (The unrounded number is due to a rain-shortened match in 2023).
-Kate Del Fava remains minute-perfect for the Royals having played all 6,030 over 67 games since the team launched in 2024. Those are the longest streaks from the start of any expansion team.
-Leif Gunnar Smerud is the fourth coach to win their first two NWSL matches. The record is six by Rob Gale with the Thorns in 2024. Casey Stoney (2022 Wave) and Juan Carlos Amorós (2002 Dash) also started 3-0-0. All but Stoney were mid-season interim hires. All wound up in the playoffs.
-Barbra Banda did not score last week but Temwa Chawinga did, leaving Chawinga on nine goals to Banda’s 12 in the Golden Boot race. Ashley Sanchez did not score either and is also on nine goals. Banda (Zambia) and Chawinga (Malawi) are heading to Morocco for the Women’s African Cup of Nations. Their teams were drawn in the same group and will square off August 5. Chawings is looking for her third straight Golden Boot which would match Sam Kerr (2017-2019).
Trinity Rodman scored for the Spirit on Sunday and is in fourth place on seven goals. And Trinity Byars had a brace for the Wave to move into fifth place with six goals.
TEAM STATS
-Gotham’s win in front of a sold-out Citi Field on Wednesday was the 50th regular-season home win in club history.
-The Stars loss to Angel City was their 50th home loss across all competitions. Those 50 losses have come at five different venues — Benedictine University Sports Complex, SeatGeek Stadium, Soldier Field, Wrigley Field and 2026 home Martin Stadium.
-Racing Louisville’s club-record losing streak came to an end at five games Saturday in a 1-1 home draw against the Dash.
-The Stars were shut out again on the weekend meaning they will play at least their first 16 games without scoring in two in a row. That extends a league record.
-Maiara Niehues extended her Angel City record by scoring in her fifth straight game. She also became the seven player to score the game-winner in three consecutive games.
-Esther Gonzalez’s now leads Sam Kerr 30-28 on Gotham’s all-time scoring table. Kerr has yet to score since returning to the club last week. Gonzalez had a brace Saturday to take sole possession of the record.
-Angel City have posted shutouts in the last three matches, a franchise first. The franchise record for shutout minutes remains 324 minutes which spanned the club’s second through fifth ever regular season matches back in 2022. They current streak is 272 meaning if they keep Racing Louisville off the scoreboard Sunday until the clock strikes 52:00 (in the second half, not first half stoppage time), it will be a new record.
-Karlie Lema now has goals in three straight games, tying the Bay FC record set by Penelope Hocking in May 2025.
-Louisville’s record streak of being shutout in three straight games ended, and they narrowly avoided setting the team record for consecutive minutes without a goal. Kayla Fischer’s goal snapped the minutes streak at 289. The record is 294, set in 2023.
-The Reign became the first team in NWSL history to lead by two goals, win a penalty and lose the game.
