Head of recruitment at AIK Stockholm Miika Takkula has lauded the capture of Ghanaian youngster Nana-Kofi Donkor. The 19-year-old signed a four-year deal to join AIK from Dila Gori in the summer transfer window.Donkor is waiting for his work permit to get started in the Swedish Allsvenskan. However, before joining the Yellow and Blacks, several clubs were chasing his signature but AIK beat their rivals for his services.”Donkor is a skilled winger who is strong in one-on-one situations and can play both on the wing and in more central offensive roles,” said Takkula.”Despite his young age, his ability to drive the game forward through dribbling, passing and combination play means he can quickly adapt to AIK’s style of play. The high level he has shown in both domestic competitions and the Uefa Conference League was confirmed when our scouts saw him play, which gave us the conviction that we should secure him as a long-term asset as soon as possible, even if he is not ready for competitive matches during the current season,” he added.Donkor shared his excitement after sealing the move, stating his readiness to get started.”I’m delighted to be joining AIK and i cant wait to get started. Thank you to my agency and golden gate for getting the deal over the line,” he posted on social media.
