Real Madrid are reportedly plotting a summer swoop for Sevilla’s versatile star Juanlu Sanchez, with a £34 million bid on the horizon.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of La Liga’s most adaptable talents, capable of playing across multiple positions including right-back, midfield, and even further forward.
Juanlu Sanchez: A Rising Star in La Liga
Having registered five goals and four assists in 27 appearances across all competitions in the 2024–25 season, Juanlu has been a standout performer for Sevilla. His ability to adapt tactically—whether as a central midfielder, attacking wide player or even as a second striker—has reportedly caught the eye of Carlo Ancelotti.
Juanlu’s contract at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan runs until June 2026, with a €40 million release clause. With Real Madrid keen to inject more youth and versatility into their squad, he could be snapped up as part of their ongoing rebuild.
Replacement for Vazquez?
The potential arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool on a free transfer has already added competition at right-back, and Juanlu’s signing could signal the end of Lucas Vazquez’s time at the Bernabeu.
