The Public Relations Officer of Swedru All Blacks, Nathaniel Obeng, has backed striker Rudolf Mensah to rediscover his prolific form under new head coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle, describing the forward as one of the top talents in the Ghana Premier League.
Mensah, whose remarkable haul of 27 goals in 30 games fired All Blacks to promotion last season, has found the transition to the top flight challenging, scoring four times in 19 league appearances.
However, Obeng is convinced the arrival of Mingle, who also coaches Ghana’s national U-23 side, the Black Galaxies, will be the catalyst for change.
“Having Kassim Mingle, who is a national team coach, handling Rudolf Mensah, I’m very optimistic that we are going to see a lot more from Rudolf Mensah in the coming games,” Obeng told Citi Sports. “He is a good player, a good striker, and aside from that, he is a leader on the field of play.”
Obeng’s praise extended to endorsing growing public calls for Mensah’s inclusion in the Black Stars’ 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
“He is the type of striker you would love to have in your team, and I’m not surprised that the majority of Ghanaians are asking the technical handlers of the Black Stars to give him a slot in the World Cup. He is one of the best players in our league,” he affirmed.
The timing of the endorsement is significant, coming just before Swedru All Blacks’ crucial MTN FA Cup Round of 16 tie against Nations FCâa match that pits Coach Mingle against his former club.
The stage is set for Rudolf Mensah to begin justifying the high expectations placed upon him and his new manager.
