Semper Fi FC delivered a strong response to their recent setback on the road with an impressive 3-1 victory over Great Ambition at the McDan Sports Complex in Teshie in the Access Bank Division One League.
The second-placed side showed intent from the start and took control of the game early. Samuel Adonteng opened the scoring in the first half, setting the tone for a dominant performance, before Ebenezer Kobia added a second to give Semper Fi a comfortable lead heading into the break.
Kobia returned after the restart to complete his brace just five minutes into the second half, effectively putting the contest beyond reach and underlining Semper Fi’s attacking efficiency.
Great Ambition managed a late consolation through Abdul Rashid Laryea in the 90th minute, but it did little to change the outcome of a match largely controlled by the hosts.
The win keeps Semper Fi firmly in second place and ensures they maintain pressure at the top of Zone III following their recent defeat at Home Stars. It also highlights their resilience and ability to bounce back quickly.
With momentum regained, Semper Fi will now look to build consistency in the coming fixtures as they aim to close the gap on the league leaders and strengthen their push for promotion. Semper Fi will face Inter Allies in their next fixture.
