Senegal’s physicality tested us – Bjorkegren reflects on Ghana's win
Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjrkegren has acknowledged that his team was stretched by Senegals physical approach in their 1-0 away win on Saturday. The international friendly at the Stade Lat-Dior was the first of two matches during Ghanas nine-day training tour, and despite a dominant start, the Queens had to weather a shift in momentum brought on by the hosts aggressive play.”We knew before the game that it was going to be a tough game for us, a tough away game,” Bjorkegren said. “Senegal could be physical, and I felt the start was pretty good. But towards the end of the first half, we were adapting to their style, with more stops and a more Senegal-like way of playing.”Despite the physical challenge, Ghana stayed composed, showing tactical discipline to protect their lead after scoring in the first half. The coach praised his players for managing the game under pressure and adapting when necessary. The two teams will renew their rivalry on Tuesday as Ghana prepares for international assignments later in the year.
