Chelsea are preparing for the new season under new manager Xabi Alonso, with players returning from holiday almost every day to bolster the first team numbers.
Having missed the World Cup with England, Cole Palmer has been there since day one. And according to reports from our man Simon Phillips and his source at the training ground, the attacker has been utterly inspired.
Phillips reports that the attacker has been “like a new man” in the two weeks of training so far. After two disappointing seasons from him in a row, that’s a great thing to hear.
Sources “shocked” by Palmer’s impact in training

That’s followed by word that Palmer didn’t enjoy playing under Enzo Maresca last season, and also had personal issues which affected his form. The source says he’s “shocked” by how Palmer looks, claiming that the attacker looks “hungry” to make an impression.
He’ll be even more delighted now that his best mate Morgan Rogers is joining the club too. Our expectations for Palmer (and for Chelsea in general) this season ahead are just getting higher and higher as we hear more and more positive news.
In other news…
Man City continue to be linked with two Chelsea players, even though their asking prices make deals very hard to imagine at this point.
Maxence Lacroix is one of Chelsea’s main targets for this summer, and a scout report from Sky Sports shows just why that’s the case.
