I know what some of you might be thinking, is Top 5 Goals really back? Well, not quite. We’re bringing back an old series but with double the fun. Rather than a weekly review of the best goals from women’s soccer, we’re zooming out and making it a monthly list. Here’s the Top 10 Goals from women’s soccer from March 2025.
10. Gina Chmielinski- Sassuolo

Gina Chmielinski is a 24-year-old German international who is making her mark in Serie A. If she continues on this path, having scored six goals in ten matches for the club, the German national team will have to consider giving her a call-up. Chmielinski was given far too much space outside the box, and she took her chance well. The midfielder fired her shot perfectly for top bins, a clean strike that gave the keeper no chance.
9. Marta – Orlando Pride

Normally, I would be against putting any penalty kick on a list like this, but when it’s the GOAT and she does a Panenka, I can make an exception. Antonin Panenka made it famous in the 70s, and players have been doing it ever since. It’s what the penalty kick represents. Penalties are already a pressure-packed situation. But chipping it in this way shows a complete disregard for the pressure.
You have to be as calm as possible under pressure to even think about attempting a Panenka. That’s what makes Marta the GOAT. She did this to win a game with 15 minutes left. 99 players out of 100 wouldn’t even dream of attempting it, let alone converting it.
8. Beth Mead – Arsenal
TAKE A BOW, BETH MEAD 🔥

Beth Mead has been one of Arsenal’s best players for a long time, and she consistently finds ways to produce for the Gunners. The cross came in from Chloe Kelly, the former Manchester City star who made an immediate impact on Arsenal. Mead managed to beat her defender to the spot where the ball landed and put her foot through it in one motion. Mead made it look easy, but there’s a high level of skill required to hit this one-time on the volley. Before the keeper could react, the ball was in the back of the net—sublime finishing from Beth Mead.
7. Claudia Pina – Barcelona
😱 A spider just had a very abrupt wake-up call…
Claudia Pina is chasing a hat-trick after this perfect free-kick!

Claudia Pina is one of the best free-kick takers in the world. She’s already got a full highlight reel of free-kick goals, and we can add this goal to the collection. The angle wasn’t the easiest for Pina to convert, but ultimately her contact on the ball was perfect. The ball curled over the wall and kissed the post before finding the back of the net. Barcelona is simply too good.
6. Karlie Lema- Bay FC
She started in her own box and had the speed, strength, and technical ability to shelf it in the upper 90 while in transition.
😅 KARLIE LEMA 🔥
— herculez gomez (@herculezg) March 23, 2025
The signing of Karlie Lema went under the radar in free agency, but the former Cal Berkeley standout is going to be a player to watch. The ACC Offensive Player of the Year in a loaded conference last year, Lema scored 16 goals. Bay FC’s scouting department deserves a raise because they may have found a diamond in the rough to help their offense. Lema picked up this ball within her own half and never stopped. Not only was her run incredible, but the finish was spectacular. At first, it seemed like Lema’s best option was to try to cross the ball into Rachael Kundananji. Instead, Lema somehow found the top corner on the same side as the keeper for a jaw-dropping finish. Karlie Lema is going to be a player to watch for Bay FC, that’s for sure.
5. Barbra Banda – Orlando Pride

Barbra Banda is simply inevitable. The rest of the league can’t stop her; they only hope to contain her. Banda capitalized on Chicago’s mistake and made them pay dearly. Poor Alyssa Naeher didn’t have a prayer to stop this rocket from finding the back of the net—one touch to settle it before smashing it into the roof of the net from long range. Orlando is looking like they have a real chance to go back-to-back.
4. Grace Clinton – Manchester United
A moment of magic from Grace Clinton🪄#BarclaysWSL @ManUtdWomen pic.twitter.com/fxxQzmOSvw
— Barclays Women’s Super League (@BarclaysWSL) March 24, 2025
Grace Clinton has emerged as a key Manchester United player and will surely be part of the club’s future plans. At just 22, she’s already made seven appearances for England, showing she’s more than ready for the big stage. This is the kind of goal only great players score because you need to have an audacious level of confidence and bravery to do it. If Clinton mishit the ball, it’s considered a bad shot, with all of her teammates likely wondering why she didn’t pass the ball. But because she struck it perfectly and scored, she deserves all the praise for pulling it off. Remember the name Grace Clinton. She’s set to become a big-time player for England.
3. Jordyn Bugg- Seattle Reign
Jordyn Bugg’s first NWSL goal and early candidate for goal of the year 😮💨 pic.twitter.com/NiFg9UlseN
— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) March 23, 2025
This is an early-season candidate for goal of the season in the NWSL, and it would take the top spot on most countdown lists. I would love to know what was going through Jordyn Bugg’s mind before she hit this because the result is stunning. Bugg has the potential to be the next big USWNT star, and moments like these only accentuate that. What a sweet strike from a teenage defender who finished like a player far beyond her years.
2. Ruesha Littlejohn- Shamrock Rovers
STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING
Ruesha Littlejohn has scored from the halfway line for Shamrock Rovers 🤯
What an impact she’s having in the League of Ireland!pic.twitter.com/tu3Xwxlkoy
— Balls.ie (@ballsdotie) March 29, 2025
Ruesha Littlejohn is an Irish legend who returned to play in Ireland’s Premier League this season. Littlejohn has made her presence felt thanks to this shocking goal. I couldn’t tell you the last time I ever saw someone score straight from the kickoff, but now I have. This is essentially a trick shot, but it’s happened in a real game. Similar to Grace Clinton’s goal, most players wouldn’t even try it. Most players’ attempts wouldn’t even make it to the 18-yard box, let alone the back of the net. It’s another insane goal that should have been No. 1 if not for this next goal.
1. Lizbeth Ovalle- Tigres UNAL
HOW DID SHE DO THAT??? 🤯😳
Lizbeth Ovalle scores a back heel goal that we have NEVER seen before 🔥

Every year, FIFA puts together a shortlist for the goals of the year for the Puskas Award. I think we have one of the favorites for the goal of the year right here. This goal went viral, and I’m sure almost every soccer fan on social media saw this come across their feed at some point. Lizbeth Ovalle did something we may never see done in a game again. I have witnessed scorpion kick goals before, but never like this. The best part of this is that it’s purely instinctual from Ovalle. She barely has time to react based on the ball’s pace and position. Ovalle took a step to her left first, which opened her body up even to attempt this backwards scorpion kick in the first place. I’m still shocked at how the ball went in. If this doesn’t win Goal of the Year, it has to be nominated and should be top 3 at the minimum.
