If there’s one soccer-adjacent thing we love here, it’s a pro athlete power couple. And in case you’ve missed it, the USWNT’s very own Trinity Rodman has been spotted sitting in a tree with tennis all-star Ben Shelton. Let’s take a look at how these two love birds got together and some of their milestones so far.
Shelton and Rodman first started making people whisper on Tik Tok. Early in March, the two were basically subtweeting each other with flirty videos featuring the same music. This got people whipped up in the comments, but neither confirmed nor denied the rumors. But they didn’t let people question for long…
On the 17th, Shelton posted a smoochy elevator picture of the two, and Rodman added more fuel to the fire a few days later with a launch of her own on Instagram on the 27th. Rodman’s picture featured her smiling up at someone whose face is completely covered with a hat. Even though his face was covered, Rodman threw us a bone and tagged Shelton. The two of them have been posting on Instagram ever since, with Ben even making one a pinned post.

The cuteness of this post was unfortunately cut short by the couple’s first public controversy. While supporting Ben at Wimbledon, alongside his family, earlier this week, the broadcaster repeatedly referred to her not only as Dennis Rodman’s daughter, but also as “Tiffany” rather than Trinity. Rodman took to her Instagram story to make it clear that she was there to support Shelton, just like the rest of his support system, and that she didn’t appreciate the references to her estranged father or the misnaming. What should have been a big moment for Shelton’s career and a sweet moment for the couple turned into a needless media headache.
Rodman and Shelton have just gotten started, but all signs point to them being an ‘It’ couple for years to come.
