This is a sourced article but it’s not new news from me, so I’m not going big on sending it out but it is part of my latest newsletter.
We all know now that it’s looking likely Enzo Fernandez will LEAVE Chelsea this summer. We could also sell or loan out Romeo Lavia. There’s some doubts over Andrey Santos too.
So Chelsea will be targeting at least one new midfielder this summer regardless of what happens.
I just wanted to reiterate that two names for the midfield that I keep hearing about is Alex Scott of Bournemouth, and Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace. Chelsea have a big admiration for both players and whenever I ask about targets for this summer, these are two of the names that come up a lot. It does not mean these are the only midfield names we like or are tracking, there will be more. But these two are always very prominent.
A source actually mentioned both of them to me again yesterday to reiterate our interest, hence why I’m putting this little reminder, rather than an actual update, out today.
Chelsea believe Scott in particular is under rated by some and is actually unfortunate not to considered as a England international yet. They believe he will be very soon. Our sources have also raved about how good Scott is.
This isn’t me trying to sell him and endorse him right now. However, I have scouted him a lot myself this season and as I’ve said before, he’s a player I really do rate.
