Ghana’s Black Princesses have advanced to the next stage of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, keeping alive their quest for another appearance on the global stage.

The Black Princesses edged past South Africa U-20 Women on aggregate after securing a crucial 1–0 victory in the return leg on Sunday at the Nelspruit-Mbombela Stadium. The first half ended scoreless, but Ghana asserted control after the break.

Midfielder Priscilla Mensah proved decisive, striking in the 63rd minute to seal qualification for the West Africans following a 2–2 draw in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Head coach Charles Simpson fielded a strong lineup, determined to respond after a frustrating opening encounter, and his side delivered when it mattered most.

Ghana will now prepare for a potential clash against either Zambia or Uganda in the next qualifying round.

The Black Princesses are targeting a record-extending eighth consecutive appearance at the tournament, which is scheduled to be hosted in Poland in September 2026.
