West Ham United sign French international keeper Picaud

West Ham United have completed the signing of French international goalkeeper Constance Picaud.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Hammers earlier today.

The 27-year-old joins West Ham United following a spell with French Arkema Première Ligue club FC Fleury 91. She has also turned out for ESOF Vendée La Roche, Le Havre and Paris Saint-Germain in her career to date. Picaud twice won the Coupe de France with PSG.

On the international stage, Picaud has been capped by France on 14 occasions at senior level.

After signing on with West Ham United, Picaud said “It’s a real honour to be joining West Ham United. I’m proud to become part of a Club with such a rich history and values that align with my own.

“I’ve had several conversations with Rita [Guarino] and I’ve been really impressed by her mindset, her ambition and the importance she places on togetherness and team spirit within the Club.

“It has always been a dream of mine to play outside of France and, for me, the Women’s Super League is one of the best leagues in the world. I’m so excited to come to London, experience a new country and live in such an incredible city.

“It also meant a lot to me to be able to bring my family with me – that was a huge part of this decision. I’m happy wherever I am in the world as long as my wife, my daughter and my dog are by my side. Now, all four of us are about to begin an exciting new chapter at West Ham United, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Picaud is West Ham United’s second signing of the summer transfer window.
