Algeria continued their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with an impressive 1-0 victory over the Netherlands in an international friendly on Wednesday night.
Both nations have already secured their places at the upcoming World Cup and used the encounter as an opportunity to assess their readiness ahead of the tournament, which kicks off on June 11.
Played in the Dutch city of Rotterdam, the match provided a stern test for both sides, with Algeria ultimately emerging victorious thanks to a late strike from Anis Hadj Moussa.

The hosts thought they had taken the lead after just 10 minutes when Tijjani Reijnders found the back of the net. However, celebrations were cut short as the goal was ruled out for offside.
The Netherlands continued to press forward and created another promising opportunity before halftime. In the 42nd minute, Donyell Malen latched onto a loose pass inside the penalty area and fired a powerful effort towards goal, but goalkeeper Luca Zidane reacted well to make a comfortable save.
After the recess, the Dutch continued to impress and had many chances to equalise. Having failed to convert their chances, they were ultimately punished in the 86th minute.
Anis Hadj Moussa embarked on a brilliant solo run before producing a stunning finish into the top-left corner.
The win gives Algeria a huge confidence boost ahead of the World Cup.
