Ghana international Abdul Baba Rahman insists the Black Stars will give everything on the pitch to make Ghanaians proud at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
The tournament officially kicked off on Thursday, June 11, 2026, with Ghana set to begin their campaign against Panama on June 17 in what is expected to be a crucial opening Group L fixture.
Ghana are making their fifth World Cup appearance after securing qualification for the expanded competition co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
After facing Panama in their opener, the Black Stars will take on European giants, England and 2018 finalists, Croatia.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, Baba Rahman expressed gratitude to supporters and outlined the team’s determination to deliver strong performances.
“We thank Ghanaians for the support and prayers. We are going to fight to make Ghanaians proud at the tournament,” he told AshesGyamera.
Ghana head into the competition still searching for their first knockout stage qualification since the historic 2010 World Cup in South Africa, where the Black Stars reached the quarter-finals in their best-ever performance.
The team has previously featured at the global showpiece in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022, with hopes high that the 2026 edition could mark a turning point for the squad.
