Who Are the Current Coaching Staff of the USWNT?

The United States Women’s National Team has undergone a significant transformation in 2024 with the arrival of new leadership and coaching expertise. Following their triumphant gold medal victory at the 2024 Olympics, the USWNT continues to build on their success with a coaching staff that combines international experience and a deep understanding of the women’s game.

Head Coach Emma Hayes

Hayes became the tenth full-time head coach for the USWNT in May 2024. She grew up in London playing soccer as a midfielder until suffering a career-ending injury at the age of 17. She started out as a coach for young players and worked her way up to the WSL. Before leading the USWNT to success, Hayes began coaching for Chelsea FC in 2012, where she won five Women’s Super League titles in five consecutive years. Recently, she led the USWNT to a gold medal in the 2024 Olympics, marking her 10th game serving as head coach. So far, Hayes has introduced 17 players to the international stage and has been revolutionary in broadening the scope of the player pool.

Denise Reddy, Assistant Coach

Along with Hayes, Reddy also joined the USWNT staff in May 2024, coming from Chelsea. She spent 12 years at Chelsea as the assistant coach to Hayes, helping the team earn years of accolades. Reddy herself was also a soccer star. She played Division I soccer for Rutgers and professionally in Sweden. Her coaching history is also impressive, having been a head coach in the WSL, Europe, and NWSL. She also has experience with the United States, having previously served as an assistant coach for the U-20 USWNT.

Stuart Searle, Goalkeeper Coach

Also coming from England, the current goalkeeper coach was also the goalkeeper coach at Chelsea, working with Hayes. At Chelsea, Searle worked in various roles for the club over the span of 20 years. Searle has worked with some of the top international goalkeepers and now has his focus on our very own USWNT.

Bart Caubergh, Program Director

Caubergh also joined Hayes’ staff as the newest program director. The job includes oversight of strategic alignment across all staff members. He works closely with the team leadership and strategic planning for optimal success. His main role is managing and planning on and off-field activities and overseeing individual player scheduling.
