The axe has fallen on Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, with the head coach sacked after 14 months in charge.
A growing division with the board and inconsistent results have spelled the end for Amorim, whose prickly post-match press conference at Leeds was, as expected, the beginning of the end.
There’s no club that attracts interest quite like Manchester United, and the internet’s been quick to weigh in on Amorim’s exit.
Amorim insisted in the aftermath of the draw at Leeds that he came to Manchester United to be the ‘manager’ and not just the ‘head coach’. The results for the latter role were certainly not up to scratch…
