Weston McKennie’s productive month of January earned him honors at Juventus.
McKennie was named the Bianconeri’s Player of the Month for January, the Serie A club announced Wednesday. The U.S. men’s national team midfielder scored three goals in seven appearances across all competitions last month.
McKennie opened the month by scoring in a 1-1 draw with Lecce on Jan. 3.
He also found the back of the net in a 5-0 triumph over Cremonese and a 2-0 UEFA Champions League win over Benfica.
McKennie started in all seven of Juventus’ matches in January, logging a full 90 minutes on five occasions. The Bianconeri won four of their seven matches last month, losing just once over that span.
He now has six goals this season, tying a career-high that he set back in the 2020-21 campaign. McKennie is also on the verge of setting a new career-best for appearances in a single season after featuring 35 times to date since August.
McKennie will look to add to both totals on Thursday when Juventus visits Atalanta in Coppa Italia play.
